In March 2020 the Government announced the ‘Building Safety Fund (BSF)‘ to fund the remediation of cladding on high-rise residential buildings (buildings over 18 metres).
The Fund is part of the wider Building Safety Programme which aims to ensure that residents of high-rise buildings are safe in their homes – now and in the future.
The Fund meets the cost of addressing life-safety fire risks associated with cladding in high-rise residential buildings, where the building owner or developer can’t afford to do so.
In November 2022 the Government launched a pilot scheme ‘The Medium-Rise Scheme (MRS)‘ to remediate fire safety risks on medium rise buildings (11 to 18 metres). A new fund is anticipated to be available on successful completion of these pilot projects in 2023.
Whether you are Leaseholder, Management Company, Contractor, Developer or Government, JC29 are best placed to advise and assist you with your cladding remediation and building defects project.
