Successful completion of prestigious high profile projects involving essential improvements for Network Rail.

JC29 was seconded to Network Rail Western Enhancements Delivery Team (WED) as the commercial lead on post contract/award P-Way, Civils and Signaling projects, with a combined portfolio value of £258 million.

The contract comprised Oxford Corridor Phase 0, which was commissioned in December 2016 and included provision of two new platforms, allowing a new train service to be introduced between Oxford and London Marylebone.

The contract also included Oxford Corridor Phase 1. This was commissioned in July 2018, included extensive track re-modelling in the Oxford area, extended train stabling sidings to the north of the station, and full re-signalling of the whole railway between Didcot and Heyford. The completed work unlocked additional rail capacity and improved operational flexibility.

Further work involved Up Carriage Sidings. This entailed installing shore supplies allowing electric trains to be plugged into an electricity supply for cleaning without the need to run the engines, helping reduce noise from idling trains to support the wider community and environment.
